Volunteer Spotlight: Ellen Harmon
St. Louis Audubon Society has been incredibly lucky to have Ellen Harmon as one of our amazing volunteers! Ellen joined the Board of Directors in 2018 and has dedicated her time and many talents to the Human Resources Committee, fundraising event planning, staffing outdoor events, and creating beautiful artwork for fundraising efforts (see pictures below). Her favorite volunteering experience so far has been working at Eagle Days at the Old Chain of Rocks Bridge showing bird specimens to children and families.
Ellen’s accomplishments don’t end there! Ellen received her Diploma of Nursing from Goldfarb School of Nursing at Barnes-Jewish College; Bachelor of Science from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville; Master of Business Administration from Webster University; and Juris Doctor from St. Louis University Law School.
Ellen has focused her legal career in health law. As Associate General Counsel for Global Medical Response Inc., the largest independent provider of air and ground medical transport services in the nation, Ellen provides legal and strategic business advice to executives and top management on relevant corporate, medical-legal, compliance, employment, regulatory, risk mitigation issues, and manages all forms of corporate litigation.
It’s hard to imagine Ellen has time for anything else! Nevertheless, she is an avid outdoor enthusiast and enjoys sailing, biking and hiking with her family and friends (especially at Castlewood State Park), and still finds time to dabble in painting and mosaics.
Thank you, Ellen, for bringing so much energy and enthusiasm to our organization. We greatly appreciate everything you do!
