We are looking for someone to join our flock!
Board Member Karen Meyer, our long-time volunteer bookkeeper, is planning to step down from the bookkeeper role effective upon the close of the St. Louis Audubon Society’s fiscal year, April 30, 2022. As a result, we are seeking a volunteer to take on this key role within the St. Louis Audubon organization.
St. Louis Audubon Society is a Missouri non-profit corporation that is exempt from taxation under Internal Revenue Code 501(c)(3). Our books are currently kept on the cash basis.
The bookkeeper is generally responsible for the maintenance of our financial books and records including processing approved payables, payroll (we currently use a payroll service), form 990 preparation (we currently use a tax return service), processing checks received, integration of Donor Perfect, QuickBooks and bank statements, bank account reconciliation (First Community Credit Union), financial statement preparation and electronic storage of financial records going forward. The bookkeeper works closely with the Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer, staff, and Board with respect to various financial matters (e.g., the annual budget preparation) and is a crucial position within our organization.
If interested, please reach out to Karen Meyer, at bookkeeper@stlouisaudubon. org or to Andy Hoyne, Treasurer, at treasurer@stlouisaudubon. org.
