Spring 2017 Native Plant Sales

Whether you’re just starting out or far into building your wildlife habitat, plant sales are a great way to get new plants and also ask questions and get ideas for the short and long term.

We are very lucky, in the St. Louis area, to have a number of events at which Missouri native plants can be purchased.

The Shaw Nature Reserve event webpage (scroll about 2/3 way down the page)  has a series of tips for preparing for a plant sale as well as what to do with the plants that you take home.

Bring your Bring Conservation Home report, make a plant list ahead of time, or – if you’re not sure what plants are available – know your space in terms of sunlight, moisture and approximate square footage – so that the sellers can help you choose plants that would be suited to that spot.

Happy shopping!

I appreciate the effort and generosity of time you have given to provide all of us the optimum chances to build habitats in our home landscapes. Thank you, Dawn.

  2. Dawn Weber

Isn’t it great how many there are now? I haven’t been in the native plant space as long as others but even just a couple of years ago I don’t think that there were this many sales. I’m excited by the progress we’re making in St. Louis!

    This is great Dawn
